| S & S Stables is nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia. We are located about 20 minutes west of Charlottesville, and in the middle of Virginia wine country. We train, breed, compete and sell "Pura Raza Espanola" (P.R.E.) Andalusians. Throughout the year we host equine professionals from Spain to work with our horses. Starting this year we will also hold clinics so that other people can benefit from the knowledge and instruction of formal training in Doma Vaquera, Garocha and Cobra About S & S Stables & Karen Lewis, Breeder When Karen Lewis was living on an island in North Carolina called 'Ocracoke', she owned and managed a stable of fourteen horses which she made available for rent to tourists visiting the island and wanting to ride the seashore on horseback. Her interest in 'Andalusians' began with a magazine photograph of a horse with a long flowing mane and obvious spirit, an image she felt might appear on a cave painting from thousands of years ago. She first purchased a two year old stallion, brought him home to Ocracoke, and trained him on the seashore. His willingness, intelligence, and temperament introduced Karen to a whole new world and education on horses that first originated in Spain and first came ashore in America on Spanish galleons, the 'Pura Raza Espanola' (P.R.E.), or 'Pure Spanish Horse'. Karen imported four P.R.E. mares with foals in 2004, and travels to Spain frequently to educate herself about these beautiful and intelligent horses and their traditions in Spain. The Breed
S & S Stables breeds Pura Raza Espanola Andalusian bloodlines imported from Ecija, Spain. The 'Pura Raza Espanola' (P.R.E.), or 'Pure Spanish Horse' first originated in Spain and came ashore in America on Spanish galleons. The breed is preserved by highly regulated by international standards. -

Clinic: Jesus Morales Sanchez
Please join us for a clinic with Jesus Morales Sanchez from Spain. Jesus is a world famous Andalusian horseman who has won the prestigious SICAB and specializes in Doma Vaquera, Cobra and Alta Escuela. Jesus also teaches Piaffe and Passage in hand or horseback.
The Andalusian tradition of horsemanship is a tradition and art that traces its roots through a melting pot of cultures to create a fantastic and beautiful combination and partnership between horse and rider.
